Scent of First Love
They were calling for heavy snow that day. I pulled out a scarf, and the smell reminded me of those days when I fell in love for the first time―.
The piece was the directorial debut of up-and-coming animator Maho Takagi. The idea of the video was to show a short-lived episode in a woman's life, the universal experience of a nostalgic scent taking you back to long-ago memories of first love that can never return, set to a new song written by Sakura Fujiwara specifically for the collaboration.
A full realization in animation of the coquettish appeal of the women drawn by Director Takagi--youthful and vibrant, with thrilling flashes of unguarded expression and mannerism.
