The Live Action Film "5 Centimeters per Second" Receives a Trailer!
Masayoshi Yamazaki's song, "One more time, One more chance," which brought color to the world of the original animation, will be an insert song in the movie.

An array of new cast members has also been revealed.

Nana Mori will play Takaki Tono's high school classmate Kanae Sumida, and Yuzu Aoki will play the high-school-aged Takaki Tono. Additionally, Mai Kiryu has been cast as Risa Mizuno, a key person in Takaki's life in the original anime; Aoi Miyazaki will play Kanae Sumida's big sister Midori Koshimizu; and Hidetaka Yoshioka will play the director of the science museum, Ryuichi Ogawa.

A 3rd set of teaser posters has also been revealed.

The two new posters show Kanae looking out over the shining waters of the sea of Tanegashima wearing a surfing wetsuit, her eyes pointed downward; and Takaki and Kanae at evening looking at each other beneath pale blue skies tinged with crimson.

"He's always looking past me. At something far beyond me."

The posters truly convey Kanae's melancholy longing.

The live action "5 Centimeters Per Second" is set for release on October 10th, 2025 (Friday).
