CoMix Wave Films will be distributing the Korean theatrical animation "Your Letter (Japanese Title TBD)" with a release currently scheduled for 2026.

Based on the webtoon "Your Letter" by Hyeon A Cho and originally released in October of 2025, the movie has received effusive praise as "the anime of a lifetime" and "a new frontier in K-anime." It has attracted worldwide attention after winning a string of animation awards and securing distribution in 166 countries, including Japan.
Director Kim Yong-hwan's vibrant direction portrays a protagonist who, after transferring to a new school, discovers a mysterious letter. Based on its contents, she begins searching the school for clues, making new friends and growing along the way.

A comment from Kim Yong-hwan on the Japanese release

I'm the director Kim Yong-hwan. Japan is the center for fans of anime worldwide, so I'm delighted to know that my movie, "Your Letter," will be shown to the people of Japan.
I first fell in love with animation as a child when the teacher in my art class showed us Hayao Miyzaki's "Castle in the Sky," and have broadened my horizons with a wide variety of Japanese anime since. Of these, I found the works of Shinkai Makoto particularly inspiring, and have watched nearly all of those that have been released. Given my background, I'm deeply moved and tremendously honored that "Your Letter" be distributed by CoMix Wave Films.

Let me say once again how happy I am to have my work shown to a Japanese audience once more. I can't imagine anything that would make me happier than knowing that this story, which starts with a mysterious letter, could touch the hearts of Japanese anime fans. I hope you enjoy it!

【Director's Profile】
KIM Yong-hwan is a director and producer with Studio Lico.
He was invited to the 2018 MIAF Melbourne International Animation Festival for his short film <Returning Home in Glory> (2015). He was invited to the 2018 BIAF Bucheon International Animation Festival for his work on the animation series, <A Day Before Us>. In one year, the series has had over 900,000 YouTube subscribers and 150 million cumulative views. The latest work <Your Letter> is the director's first full-length animation.
